Are you excited about learning new technologies, science, engineering and the applications of math. I am! In fact, my learning and creating STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning opportunities for the next generation is what gets me up every morning! This is my mission.

I founded STEM-X (a STEM education enrichment hosted by Poudre School District) in 2008 when I was the Assistant Principal at Preston Middle School because there just isn't enough time in the school year to deeply explore the STEM topics we are passionate about. Since starting with 76 students we have grown over the years to include over 600! I can't wait until next summer when we can host STEM-X!

Aviation has always been a passion for me. I wanted to fly since I was little and took my first airplane ride when in middle school. As with all things, I like to share my learning with the next generation of aviators and aviatrices so began teaching an aviation course at Casper College in a program for gifted middle schoolers over 25 years ago. I fly regularly out of KGXY (Greeley-Weld County Airport) and volunteer with the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) at OSHKOSH Airventure. In addition to my pilot's certificate, I have my FAA commercial UAS certificate (unmanned aerial systems) and am a National Association of Rocketry Level 2 rocketeer.

My wife and I have two adult children and 4 grandsons under 6. We enjoy getting up in the mountains and spending time at the family ranch in South Dakota where we both grew up.
