Course Description

Students have the opportunity to build upon prior knowledge and skills in the program by directly working with our youngest learners in PSD.  Once a week Education students from Futures Lab will be in preschool classrooms in our community.  This hands-on learning will prepare them for success in future careers and postsecondary education.

Principles of Construction

Course Description

After diving into the design process during Q3, learners will learn the essential knowledge, skills, and concepts required to build their unique designs. Upon completion of this course, proficient students will be able to employ tools safely and interpret construction drawings to complete projects demonstrating proper measurement and application of mathematical concepts. Standards in this course also include an overview of the construction industry and an introduction to building systems and materials.

Guidance Strategies for Children

Course Description

This course explores guidance theories, applications, goals, and techniques, as well as factors that influence behavioral expectations of children.  This course includes classroom management and pro-social skills development of young children in Early Childhood program settings.
